Maggie’s, located across State Street from the historic Granada Theatre in Santa Barbara, recently opened to rave reviews, and is quickly becoming a favorite of locals and tourists alike. The new upscale restaurant and bar is chic, but comfortable, with a menu to match.
Maggie’s co-owners Margaret and Barry Shulman along with Executive Chef Guillaume Sabbadin (born in Toulouse, France with a curriculum vitae in the US that includes work with French Master Chef Alain Gerard and the renowned Helen An of Crustacean in Beverly Hills), are a winning combination.
Dinner here is a delightful experience. Maggie and Barry are consummate hosts with the most, Chef Sabbadin’s preparation and presentation of dishes is outstanding, and the staff is attentive and helpful. The Chef offers a delicious French menu filled with all the pleasures you expect from a Frenchman like traditional escargot, frogs legs Provencal, tantalizing duck with orange sauce, the most amazing heirloom tomato salad you will ever taste, and on and on. The wine list is amazing as well, and is filled with European favorites as well as trendyCalifornia wines.
According to bar manager/mixologist Andre Boshoff the crab cake and tuna tartar appetizer with a Maggie’s signature emerald gimlet martini are favorites at the new venue. Maggie’s serves lunch and dinner. It has become the place to dine before or after the symphony or opera at the Granada Theatre. For additional information please visit www.maggiesatstateanda.com
